Around League Two

7 February 2019

Yet again, it’s been another busy week in Sky Bet League Two with lots happening all over the past seven days.

From Transfer Deadline Day to Managerial appointments this week has had it all, so here’s three big stories you may have missed from around League Two.

Askey Appointed Vale Manager

John Askey is a man who needs no introduction to the Macclesfield faithful and he is back in employment within League Two.

Port Vale is his next destination and now Askey will be competing with the Silkmen for a place in next season’s Sky Bet League Two. Manager Neil Aspin left his position last week and Askey has been tasked with keeping The Valiants in the division.

After signing, Askey told the club’s official website: “"With my dad playing - he had a succesful time here. There's quite a few pictures around that I've seen before or they're hung up on my wall, so it's nice to have that feeling of coming home.

"Being at Macclesfield, it was like a home-from-home really, then going to Shrewsbury, it was completely different. So, coming here, it's nice to get that feeling back and I'm doing it for the right reasons; I want the club to do well."
