Macclesfield Town midfielder Paddy Osadebe says he was delighted with his team’s victory at home to Leyton Orient on Saturday.
“I’m delighted with the win because we had a plan all week about how we were going to penetrate Leyton Orient.
"Last week, we were dominant but got nothing out of the game. We made sure that today, we executed.”
Osadebe marked his first home appearance for the club with a well-taken goal midway through the second-half.
“I saw that their defenders had pushed on, the ball got played and I was onto it. I made sure to put my head down and slot it inside the goal.”
The new signing stated that it was important that the Silkmen bounced back after losing to Exeter, saying:
“We did well last week but didn’t score. We made sure that any chance we got today, we took. We dominated and we’re happy with the three points.
"The performance from the boys was top-class. We’re all winners here. We have a new mentality and desire to win and we did that today.”
Osadebe puts the display down to how hard he and his teammates have been working all week in training.
“We set a high standard in training and that’s what we’re going to be bringing to games every week. We can’t drop.
“The fans were brilliant too, outstanding. From the start to the end, they gave us a lot of confidence in the first half and the second half.”
Next up for Sol Campbell’s side is a game against Blackpool in the first round of the Carabao Cup.
Osadebe is understandably looking forward to it -
“Bring on Blackpool. I can’t wait. See you on Tuesday”
