From The Treatment Room

3 October 2018

Club Physiotherapist Kyle Fairgrieve gives us an update on our wounded warriers -

It’s been a tricky few months in terms of injuries but hopefully our luck has changed and we are now on the home straight.

Elliott Durrell underwent a small corrective procedure to remove some stitches from his groin. This was successful and Elliott has been given the all clear to progress his rehabilitation.

The hope is to have Elliott beginning to reintegrate into training within the next two weeks.

Elliott won’t be fit to play right away as he has had no pre season, so will be playing catch up but he is working incredibly hard to ensure he is as fit as possible going back in.

Danny Whitaker suffered a knee ligament injury last Saturday that will unfortunately mean a spell on the sidelines.

Whilst we haven’t set an official timeline, the hope is to have him back playing before the end of November if everything goes according to plan.

Ryan Lloyd has made great progress with his rehabilitation and has been cleared to begin a graduated strengthening programme.

The protective boot was initially suspected to be on for a month longer than it has been - so this is a big bonus for us all.

The hope is for Ryan to begin reintegrating with the team around the beginning of next month.

Callum Evans is making good progress having been knocked unconscious away at Morecambe.

Unfortunately however, he suffered ankle ligament damage when landing. He is currently undergoing aggressive rehabilitation in the hope that the specialist feels his ankle will stabilise without intervention.

There is no set timeline on his return at present, but hopefully I will be able to update you all in the near future.

The injured players are desperate to be back playing and doing everything they can to get back fit.

Their work rate has been phenomenal and with any luck, we have finally seen the back of the injuries.
