A Michael Rose penalty combined with a sterling defensive performance secured the boys in blue a crucial three points against Yeovil Town at the weekend, and will look to build momentum tonight.
Jordan Ponticelli, who is still undergoing rehabilitation, and Jared Hodgkiss who remains a doubt after missing the Yeovil clash, are the only injury concerns ahead of tonight.
The Grecians are hot prospects for promotion this season after falling at the play off final in the last two campaigns. Although recently, Matt Taylor’s side have dropped off the pace after a blistering start to the new term.
They have not tasted victory in the league in six matches, their last three-point haul coming on 13th October against Swindon Town. They come into the fixture tonight in sixth after a draw at Colchester United on Saturday.
City’s Nicky Law has stamped his authority in the Devon-side’s midfield, having started all except two of the Grecian’s League Two matches, and is prepared for a hard shift in the middle of the park.
He said: “From our point of view I think it will be what we always do, concentrate on ourselves, and respect our opponents whether they’re first in the league or bottom of the table.
“There are no easy games in this league, and I think the worst thing we could do is to turn up thinking that we only need to turn up and we’ll win the game because it won’t be the case.
“It’ll be another tough game, but we’re at home and looking to do our own thing and do what we do well to hopefully get our first three points for a while.”
