Morecambe doubled their lead on 57 minutes as Greenwood was brought down in the box by Joe Young. Ly stepped up and calmly tucked the ball into the bottom left corner.
Macclesfield continued to dominate the ball and created a whole host of half chances but couldn't find the breakthrough needed to get back into the game.
Reaction to follow later today from EDS Youth Team Manager Paul McGuire.
