We are making good progress with all of our injured and have been fortunate of late to not pick up anything serious along the way. With luck on our side, we will have a near full strength squad available by the end of the month.
Elliott Durrell played his first match minutes since injury yesterday and has come through without any issues. He has been training for the last three and a half weeks and this extra training time has helped his fitness massively. The key for him now will be to find match fitness which will return the more games he plays. Hopefully this is the end of his injury troubles now and he can push on and work his way back into the team.
Ryan Lloyd has made very good progress since an achilles injury kept him out for just over two months. Match minutes are important for him now and he will continue to improve and progress the more time he spends on the field.
Callum Evans returned to full training on Monday this week and is looking good. It is now just over six weeks since the injury at Morecambe but has been working hard to keep his fitness up and rehab his ankle. Hopefully he will be back on the field getting game time at some point in the next two weeks depending on his progress in training.
Danny Whitaker is coming on well since his knee injury and has taken a big step this week. We are now back out on the grass with the ball at his feet so hopefully, it wont be too long before he can start to re-integrate into training.
Ben Stephens was withdrawn as a precaution against Bury because of an ankle issue but he has trained since then and will be good to go at the weekend.
Jordan Ponticelli is continuing to make good progress and is meeting with his specialist next week. Hopefully he will then be cleared to return to full contact training and the hope is to have him back with us in early December if everything goes to plan.
It goes without saying that the injured players are desperate to get back fit and get back on the pitch to make an impact. Hopefully this is the end of our injury troubles now and the players returning can push on and bring healthy competition for a place in the squad.
