Macclesfield Town Under 18s stormed into the Mid Cheshire League Cup Final this afternoon, as they emphatically disposed of Sandbach United at Egerton Youth Club.
The match started at a frantic pace, with both sides looking to stamp their authority on the game within the opening exchanges.
The first real chance of note came on 8 minutes, as Ben Parkinson launched an incredibly agile save to tip Fin Noakes' looping effort over the bar.
Just two minutes later the deadlock was broken however, as Max Phillips' angled free-kick into the Sandbach penalty area was latched onto by Dan Dolling and he poked the ball home to give The Silkmen the lead.
On 18 minutes our lead was doubled, as Joe Cobey's mesmerising run down the left ended with a pinpoint cross to Mohammed Duran and he confidently finished from close range.
Jim Hall's side then began to dominate proceedings, as they caressed the ball around the pitch with consummate ease and conviction.
It was therefore no surprise when our lead was extended just before the half hour mark, as Cobey ended a flowing move with a superb finish to make it three.
To their credit, the visitors never gave up the fight and ten minutes before the interval, Parkinson was forced into a phenomenal double save as Logan Clowes and Ollie Byram were both denied in quick succession.
The second half began in much the same vein that the first had ended - with Macc looking to advance at every opportunity and aiming to add to their tally with devastating regularity.
Our fourth goal came on 53 minutes, when Shaun Holden burst down the left hand side, before seeing his powerful cross somehow reside in the back of the Sandbach net.
The visitors reduced the deficit just before the hour mark after Clowes was brought down in the penalty area and he then stepped up to confidently despatch the resultant spot kick.
Macc continued to lay siege to the Sandbach goal, with Cobey, Jordan and Phillips all coming close to restoring our four goal cushion, before a devastating five minute spell ensued.
Substitute Mohammed Hussein fought through a plethora of Sandbach defenders on 68 minutes before firing home our fifth goal and that was followed sixty seconds later, when Joe Cobey struck his second of the game with a brilliant turn and shot from the edge of the area.
Just two minutes later, Phillips brilliantly connected with a corner from the right to make it seven and George Richardson made it four goals in five glorious minutes when he converted from close range.Jake Hall completed the scoring six minutes from time, with a superbly executed strike from the edge of the area and although Jim Hall's side gallantly went in pursuit of double figures, Taylor Brookes in the Sandbach goal made a series of fine stops to deny them.
Macc will now contest the League Cup Final against either Witton Albion or Winsford United in the New Year, so make sure that you keep an eye on the official site for all the details ahead of the game.
