Around League Two

16 August 2018

We take a look at news stories from around Sky Bet League Two -

Bury snap-up Rangers midfielder

After a disappointing defeat away to promotion chasers MK Dons, spirits in Greater Manchester will undoubtedly be lifted after The Shakers confirmed the loan signing of Rangers midfielder Jamie Barjonas

The 19-year-old talent has been training with the League Two side, but will now join up with Ryan Lowe’s squad until January after being recommended to The Shakers manager by fellow Liverpudlian and Rangers boss Steven Gerrard.

Barjonas will be a potent addition to Lowe’s team and following his nine appearances for The Gers last season, the midfielder could be vital in getting some early points on the board as Bury look to bounce back from their relegation to League Two last season.

Oldham sign teenage striker from Wigan

Saturday’s EFL opponents Oldham Athletic rescued a late point against Mark Cooper’s Forest Green Rovers on Saturday and their spirits will be further boasted by the capturing of striker Callum Lang from Wigan Athletic.

The 19-year-old has yet to feature for Paul Cook’s side in the Championship and the teenager could make his Oldham debut against The Silkmen on Saturday.

Lang arrives at Boundary Park off the back of an impressive loan spell with fellow League Two side Morecambe under Manager Jim Bently.

The striker fired ten goals for The Shrimps and won the EFL Young Player of the Month award last December.

Crawley announce the signing of 31-year-old midfielder

Harry Kewell has announced his eleventh signing of the summer as he continues his total revamp of his Crawley Town side

The former Liverpool midfielder’s latest addition is 31-year-old midfielder Rob Milsom who joins The Reds following his release from Notts County last summer.

The Redhill born midfielder impressed in his trial period following previous spells at Aberdeen, Bury and Rotherham and could be available for Saturday’s trip to Vale Park.
