Wilson Hat-Trick Helps Seal Comfortable Victory

A Scott Wilson hat-trick helped Macclesfield Town to an inspiring 5 -2 victory in a behind closed doors friendly against a strong Rochdale side. this afternoon.

In an entertaining game at the Moss Rose, the visitors took the lead in the 16th minute when Ntlhe ghosted in at the back post to concert a left wing free kick.

Ten minutes later, parity was restored when Wilson confidently chipped the ball over the visiting 'keeper from fifteen yards out.

Ntlhe's bullet header put The Dale back into the lead two minutes later, yet Macc fought back and eleven minutes before the interval Malachi Napa finished a flowing Silkmen move by hammering home from close range.

Wilson bagged his second goal on the hour mark as he capitalised on a mix up in the Rochdale defence and secured his hat-trick on 75 minutes by emphatically finishing James Pearson's cross from the left.

Nathan Blissett then rattled the crossbar with a 78th minute penalty, yet made amends on the stroke of full time, as his magical run ended with him playing a trialist clean though on goal and he made no mistake from ten yards out.
