The Silkmen were beaten on penalties in the Northern Section Youth Alliance Cup final.
Silkmen led rivals Stockport County 1-0 at half-time after Tom France had opened the scoring after 22 minutes following a corner.
But the home side equalised after 69 minutes following a mix-up at the back.
With no extra-time, the match went to penalties and County held their nerve to win the game 4-3 on spot kicks.
