The Silkmen were in the goals again at the Moss Rose on Saturday as their fought back to defeat Wrexham 4-2 in the North West Youth Alliance. Goals from Cook (2), Mukendi and Daniels helped the youngsters to their third win of the season after the visitors had stormed into a two goal lead within twenty minutes.
The all important first goal came just before half time after good work from Tom France (pictured). The midfielder ran a fully forty yards before steadying himself to find Sam Cook with his cross, the striker heading past the keeper for his sixth goal of the campaign.

The goal could not have come at a more opportune time and inspired the Silkmen to three unanswered second half goals. Cook added a second after more good work from France before Vinny Mukendi beat his marker with a neat piece of skill before sliding the ball past the advancing keeper. The decisive fourth ended the game as a contest and came via Greg Daniels who cut inside and saw his shot deflected in his own net by a Wrexham defender.
Boss John Askey was pleased with the result but felt that defensively the team are still making too many mistakes.
"We played really well again on Saturday but gave ourselves a bit of a mountain to climb," explained John. "We're conceding a few too many goals and its something we have to work on. Thankfully going forward we look very dangerous and in Cook and Mukendi we have two young lads who certainly know where the goal is."
"It we can tighten up defensively as a team, there's no reason why we can't go on a good run as you always fancy us to score a goal or two."
