The Silkmen Youth Team

A bit about the team & set up

The Macclesfield Town youth team is managed by Silkmen legend John Askey and currently play in the North West Puma Youth Alliance League. They also take part in the FA Youth Cup sponsored by E-ON, a competition they have enjoyed some relative success reaching the 3^rd round in 2006/07 before losing out to Everton. They went one better in 2007/08 in reaching the 4^th round where they also lost out to Premier League opposition in the form of Sunderland.

Home games, where ever possible, are played at the Moss Rose on a Saturday morning (11am kick-off unless otherwise advised).

The club operates a two year scholarship with most players recruited from the immediate Cheshire and North West areas.

We pride ourselves on providing players with a comprehensive schooling both on and off the field with the aim very much of seeing them progress to first team footballing, and hopefully a long and successful career with Macclesfield Town.
