Hello again, here is my second attempt at an already increasingly tardy blog...but at least there is plenty to write about after Saturday. I was beginning to wonder when our first win would come; the only person I know who draws as much as us is Rolf Harris, and he gave that up years ago to look after sick animals.

No obvious jokes about certain League 2 sides down the M1 here though. So 3 points at Hereford was excellent, and puts our first 4 results into perspective. Darlington were no mugs, and I thought we had the better chances in that game regardless of the penalty save. The other games were tough but we have not been beaten. Jimmy McNulty stepped in to have a great first start to his season- a performance only matched by his Arnie impressions that kept the lads entertained on the weekend trip to Hereford. Who would have thought that 'get to the chopper!' would be as funny on the 20th delivery as it was on the first.

Tommy Lee also deserves praise for some of his saves against Darlo and Hereford, he has been in awesome form for us. He obviously takes great strength from his pre match ritual of watching Rambo in action. After seeing it on the bus to the game and noticing his hirsute similarities, I could only put 2 and 2 together. That, and him muttering 'they drew first blood...' at set pieces and corners. Well whatever it is, I hope he keeps doing it.

Luke Dimech was also in great form at the weekend, just not for us. After seeing the Maltese post match celebrations, I think they were ecstatic with the result against Turkey. The idea of drawing another game probably made Luke feel ill, but I guess the circumstances were a little different. I expect our win cheered him up anyway. The rest of our squad can only dream of playing for our countries in such a game, so I was pleased to see him do so well.

I'm not ruling out a call from Alex McLeish, especially with some massive games coming up, but I probably have to be realistic and understand that he has just misplaced my number or is saving me for the European Championships. In all seriousness I will be cheering the bhoys(sic) on Wednesday night, because if there is one thing Scotland don't like it's teams like France; good ones that win a lot.

Then again as my old man says 'you can learn a line from a win, and a book from defeat'. I always wondered how we had so many Scottish football books at home.
