Another product of the increasingly successful youth set up at the Moss Rose, Shaun was elevated to the first team two months shy of his eighteenth birthday in March 2008.

Then new boss Alexander however was quick to spot the youngster's potential and gave him his league debut in his first game in charge against Notts County. Has been a regular ever since and whilst preferring a centre half role, Shaun has featured in numerous positions, including wing back and the club was delighted to secure his signature on a two year contract in the summer of 2009. Shaun was almost an ever present for the 2008/9 season, playing 43 times in all competitions and scoring twice.

After further progress in his second season, Shaun suffered an injury set back a month into the 2010/11 campaign, sidelined for four months. He was eventually to return to the team and clocked up his 100^th first team appearance, and signed a new two year deal in the summer.
