Danny was one of Paul Ince's last acts as the Macclesfield boss, the lively wing man joining the club on a two year deal in the summer of 2007 after turning down an offer from Hereford United. The former Leicester City trainee had previously enjoyed spells with Bournemouth, Boston United, Shrewsbury and Hereford United. Playing out wide, Danny made a big impact in his first season and picked up the Players' Player of the Year Award, his pace, willingness to take men on and deliver telling crosses a bit threat to League Two defences.
