Luke Dimech has fulfilled his ambition returning to English football when he signed a one-year contract with the Silkmen in July 2007. Previously 30 year old Dimech had moved to the UK in 2003 to play for Mansfield, before a move to Chester City. More recently the uncompromising centre half had been back at home in Malta, playing for Marsaxlokk who lifted the Maltese title last season. A regular in the Malta side, Luke featured in Euro 2008 qualifier with Turkey and played his part in a memorable 2-2 for his country.
