Macclesfield Town snapped up striker Martin Gritton on a two-year contract following his release by Lincoln City in the summer of 2007. The 29-year-old front man started his career with Plymouth Argyle and also enjoyed a productive spell with Torquay United, before heading north to link up with Grimsby Town and then Lincoln. Having spent most of his last season at Sincil Bank out on loan, Glasgow born Gritton opted to move to the Moss Rose and was quick off the mark, scoring within minutes of making his league debut against the MK Dons. A series of niggling injuries were however to restrict the forward's appearances in the second half of the season, but now fully fit will be looking to make a big impact this time around.
