Brian Horton Interview

Posted on: Thu 11 May 2006

The Gaffer's talks to Silkmen World about the 2005-06 season and the final game at The Memorial Stadium

The highlights of the season for me would have to be the game at Nottingham Forrest, beating Rotherham United and getting to the Northern Area Final of the L.D.V. Vans Trophy. We had a couple of good performances against Carlisle United, but overall I've been disappointed in the season.

We got off to a poor start, but I think it's been a catalogue of things really. The situation with the strikers right throughout the season has been a nightmare and it's not easy to find them at this level without spending money. I've had Jon Parkin, Michael Symes, Allan Russell, Kevin Townson, John Miles, Martin Bullock, Clyde Wijnhard, Matty McNeil and Marcus Richardson all up there. I think that's been the story of our season in a way.
