On the Pitch - Wycombe Wanderers

Posted on: Wed 08 Sep 2010

We continue our build-up to the weekend's fixture at Wycombe as we look at the referee and pick out a possible danger-man for the home side.

Man in the Middle - Pat Miller
Mr Miller reached the national list of referees in 2005, three seasons after reaching the national Assistants list. He took charge of the Silkmen in that first season in a 1-1 draw at Mansfield.

This weekend will be the second time he has officiated the Silkmen at Adams Park after the 2006/7 match which saw Jordan Hadfield given his marching orders in a 3-0 defeat.

2008/9 then saw his first, and to date only visit to the Moss Rose and a 4-0 home defeat to Dagenham and Redbridge.

Last season he was in charge of two Silkmen matches. The 0-0 draw at Port Vale and the penultimate match of the season defeat to Darlington.

This will be his fifth match of the season and to date he has shown 11 yellow cards and no reds.

He will be assisted by Darren Blunden and Wade Norcott with John Busby the fourth official.

One to Watch - Ben Strevens
Formerly of Barnet where he spent seven years, Strevens is known more recently for his time at Dagenham and Redbridge where he signed in 2006 and helped to the Conference title and scored 34 goals in 11 appearances before moving to Brentford in 2009.

He joined Wycombe the following summer and opened his account in their narrow 2-1 defeat to Millwall.
