Pitch Perfect

Posted on: Fri 13 Aug 2010

To say that it rained on Thursday afternoon is a bit of an understatement. The downpour flooded roads throughout the area, including Moss Lane, and the Silkmen's stadium didn't get away without a drenching of it's own.

But the pitch here at the Moss is made of stern stuff and a drier spell for a few hours combined with lighter rain overnight left the surface in a perfectly playable condition by the time the office re-opened in the morning.

Chairman Mike Rance said: "As everyone in the area will know, we had a lot of rain last night and it is a tribute to the Moss Rose pitch and the staff at the ground that after such a deluge we could have played a game this morning had we needed to."
