The Silkmen got off to the best possible start this evening in their latest pre-season friendly with Congleton Town.
With a mixture of first team squad and youth team player, plus triallist Jason Beardsley, it was trainee Greg Daniels who made the most of his starting opportunity as the Silkmen stormed into an early two goal lead.
The young striker was on hand to open the scoring as early as the 3rd minute, and he helped himself to a second minutes later, getting on the end of a Sam Wedgbury pass to steer the ball coolly past the keeper.
Confidence clearly lifted, the Silkmen enjoyed the majority of possession against the North West Counties League team as the half wore on and it was no surprise when the third goal arrived. It came courtesy of Vinny Mukendi who headed in an the far post, with the provider again being Sam Wedgbury.
