Gary Simpson today confirmed he had made two offers to two midfielders but will have to wait until after the weekend before knowing if the players in question would be joining the club.

"Yes I can confirm we've made offers to two players," explained Gary. "Clearly at this stage we don't want to mention their names as we don't want to alert other clubs to our interest."

"However I do know they are speaking to other clubs and that's the reason for the delay. I had hoped to be in a position to announce something today but we'll just have to be patient."

"I am hopeful of getting one but I could quite easily miss out on both of them. Both have similar games, one has a lot of league experience and the other is someone looking for a chance at the higher level. I suspect we'll only go for one, and it may come down to whoever gets back to me first."

"Both have said they want to come and play for me which is a good start but I fully understand that they need a little extra time to make a decision. If both fall through I do have a few irons in the fire and we'd just have to refocus our efforts."
