The Silkmen's recent run of good form has given them a chance of recording the club's fourth highest points tally since they joined the Football League back in the summer of 1997.
Having already exceeding the number of points won in the last three seasons (47, 50 and 48 respectively) a further six points from the remaining three games will see us surpass the 58 achieved in 2001/02 and make it our fourth best total.
Top of the list of course is still the 82 points that saw us gain promotion to League One at the end of our inaugural season in the League, followed by the 75 from our play-off year in 2004/05.
A quick look at the stats also reveals:
Hard to Beat
The Silkmen have lost just 14 times so far this season, a figure only bettered by the ten we suffered in our 97/98 promotion campaign. Unsurprisingly the defence shapes up well, on course to be the 4th meanest in our thirteen seasons as a league club.
Draw Specialists
One more draw and the Silkmen will equal the record number of stalemates in the league for one season. Back in 2005/06 Macc shared the points on 18 occasions and we currently are one shy of matching that number.
Travelling Well
With just seven defeats on our travels, the Silkmen just have to avoid defeat at either Torquay or Lincoln in our remaining two away games to record their lowest number of losses away from the Moss Rose. However failure to convert more of the nine draws into wins, means our points total to date of 24 is only the fourth best haul in the last thirteen seasons but the highest in six.
Scoring Run
Whilst our tally of 49 goals is strictly mid table, following Saturday's win over Chesterfield the Silkmen have scored in eleven consecutive League games. This is the second best run of scoring, the record standing at 14 during the 2003/04 campaign, which if you include cup games was extended to nineteen games in total.
