One of the big reasons for the recent upturn in the Silkmen's fortunes has been the rich scoring form of Ben Wright.
The striker struck for the fourth time in the last six outings at Valley Parade on Easter Monday, finding space in the box to steer a Matt Lowe cross past the flat footed Bradford keeper.
And the former Lincoln City frontman is relishing his change in fortune after a tough start to his career at the Moss Rose and we caught up with him as he looked ahead to a well deserved day off today.
You must be enjoying your football?
Things are going well at the moment so yes it's nice to go out there on the park expecting to score. My confidence is high at the moment and whilst you'd be hard pushed to describe any of my recent goals as classics it's nice to be getting into the right places. And of course credit to the lads for creating the chances.
Can you put your finger on what has changed?
Football's a funny game at times and early on in the season things just weren't going my way. Chances would go just wide and or hit the woodwork. When you're a striker at a new club there's always a bit of pressure on you and I suppose that can't have helped. As each game passed without a goal that pressure grew. But I continued to work hard and both the Gaffer and Gary were very supportive.
And great to score the winner?
Absolutely! We'd been pegged back and after our recent away games at Rotherham and Dagenham there was always that fear it could happen again. But we dug in and Matt put a great ball in and it was great to get on the end of it. More importantly it meant we picked up an important three points and that's what it's all about.
And pleasing to do so in front of such a large crowd?
As a player its great to be playing in front of such a large crowd. You can't help but lift yourself. But even though they were outnumbered it was great to hear our lot getting behind us. Hopefully we sent them home with a smile on their faces.
Does it make you feel old playing alongside the likes of Matt and Vinny?
(Laughs). It certainly does but it's great to see. Both have come in and done well and that's got to be good for the club in the long run.
What's the feeling in the camp at the moment?
It's a cliché I know but we're just taking every game as it comes. That's all you can do. We just want to finish the season on a high.
Are you following results elsewhere?
You can't not! A few of the lads are straight onto their phones to get the results in the dressing room after games. So it's inevitable. And as always seems the case at this time of the season, sides down at the bottom are picking up results. Grimsby and Cheltenham won again so it's important we don't take our foot off the gas. Mathematically I think we need another couple of wins and until we get them, or results elsewhere go for us, we won't rest easy.
