By his own admission defender Sean Hessey is a poor patient. Four and a half months on the sidelines, as a result of medial ligament damage sustained on the second day of pre-season training was a bitter pill to swallow.
The likeable defender was eventually to return to the side for the home game against Hereford United and has been an ever present in the side, relishing the chance to resume playing.
We caught up with Sean in the lead up to Saturday's game. But first up his reaction to Tuesday night's draw at Grimsby.
"We knew it was vital that we didn't lose that game," explained Sean. "We achieved that but given the way the game panned out, there was definitely a feeling we had let two points slip through our hands."
"That's happened quite a few times this season and it's important we learn how to kill teams off. But I still think we can take a lot of positives from our night's work."
And how's the body coping?
To be honest I feel stronger than I have done in a while. I had a double hernia operation in the summer and was probably the fittest I had been for the start of pre-season. That's stood me in good stead even though I didn't return to action as quickly as I would have hoped.
How did the injury happen?
It was so innocuous. I was just running past someone and slipped. I knew there was something wrong straight away. I've had long term lay-offs before but this was the worst because the cast on my leg meant I couldn't get around without help from others.
And there was talk of it being career ending?
Yes I heard that but I never had any doubts I would be back. I know I'm the wrong side of 30 but I still feel young at heart and I was confident I would get back to fitness.
So now you are back in the side, what are your thoughts on the season so far?
Well I think our last two games against Bournemouth and Grimsby are a good barometer for the season so far. We've done ok but just not been able to convert our performances into wins.
But pleasing to get points on the road?
Absolutely! And we can take a lot from that. The weather has conspired to give us a run of seven away games in nine so its important we keep picking up as many points as we can as they could prove crucial come the end of the season.
And we hear you keep the troops entertained on away trips?
For the Bournemouth trip I set the lads a general knowledge quiz. It helped kill a bit of time and we had a bit of a laugh about it afterwards especially as the gaffer didn't do that well. He blamed me for the wrong question selection. I'll remind him of that the next time he doesn't pick me.
But it will be good to get back on home turf and what better than a chance to have a go at the league leaders.
Saturday's match day programme carries a more in-depth interview with Sean. So be sure to pick up your copy and find out who won the quiz and which two players were suspected of cheating!
