On the Pitch - Bury

Posted on: Fri 12 Mar 2010

Our regular look at the men in the middle for this evening's match.

MAN IN THE MIDDLE - KEVIN WRIGHT
Now in his sixth season in League Football, Mr Wright, who hails from Cambridgeshire has been in charge of the Silkmen in on six previous occasions. These began with a 3-2 defeat in Mansfield early in the 03/04 season. Next was a 2-1 home win over Shrewsbury and a 1-0 defeat at Notts County, both in 2004/5.

A 2-0 defeat at Walsall followed in 2006/7 before the well remembered 1-0 win at Dagenham and Redbridge, Keith Alexander's first victory in charge of the Silkmen.

Remarkably, the last time he took charge of a match involving Macc was last season's home match with Bury which saw both goals in the first ten minutes despite the Silkmen playing with 10 men for the last 15 minutes after Matthew Flynn was sent off.

This season he has controlled 25 matches - the majority of these being in the Championship - showing 74 yellow cards and seven red.

He will be assisted by Steven Copeland and William Smallwood

ONE TO WATCH - RYAN LOWE
Ryan Lowe is the club top scorer this season with 14 goals already to his name. Recently these have included a winner in the 1-0 victory over Shrewsbury and the penalty equaliser against Darlington midweek.
