John Rooney opened the scoring for the Silkmen against Cheltenham with a screamer (which you can see for free on SilkmenPlayer) and is developing a reputation for the spectacular.
We spoke to him about the goal and some of the reaction to it,
Last Friday saw a goal of the season candidate down at Cheltenham, can you talk us through it?
"We had a corner and I was outside the area to follow-in, Belly took it and their defender headed it clear. It was coming to me and I couldn't see any other options open to me, so I had a crack.
"It was great to see it flying in. We had a tough game down there and it was a fantastic result for us. We'd certainly have taken it if you have offered it before kick off."

Most pundits described is as a goal your brother would be proud of, are you keen to get away from being referred to as 'Wayne's Brother'?
"Definitely. I want to carve out my own career and have people knowing me for my own achievements and what I have done in football.
If I can keep scoring goals like the one on Friday, perhaps people will be calling him 'John's Brother' before too long."
