From the Boardroom Part 2
Macclesfield Town chairman Mike Rance continues to talk about summer life at the Moss Rose and discusses what is happening off the pitch, away from the playing side of the club.
"Just yesterday I met with Chris Edge and Andy Mellor to discuss our disabled facilities and as a result we'll be making some minor changes to try to improve the match day experience of our disabled supporters.
"The pitch itself has had its usual spring treatment and it's been a good grass growing season - its looking pretty good despite the wet weather that hampered the reseeding process. Mark and Liam are never entirely happy though."
"Things have been pretty busy in the office too with a number of things adding to the usual activities around season tickets, player registrations and organisation of pre-season friendlies. Patrick's move to an exciting new role in Northern Ireland has been an additional complication, especially for me, as we have to manage the business through the period of change his departure will create.
"We've been making some other changes too. For example the move to our new training HQ at Egerton in Knutsford is exciting but brings its own challenges. Once the current development work there is completed Egerton's International standard artificial pitch, range of grass pitches, new changing rooms, gym and cafeteria facilities will give us facilities that will be the envy of a number of Championship clubs, let alone our competitors in League Two."

"Being close to the M6 it's more convenient for many of our players but also less convenient for a few. We'll need to make it work but I'm certain it will make us more competitive.
"We're introducing some other changes over the summer too. We're planning a much more active sales and marketing campaign to promote the club and its facilities as we approach the new season. I hope you'll notice the difference. In common with other League clubs we're launching a new multimedia website for the new season and will be using this as an opportunity to address some of the shortfalls of the new official site. Next year's match day programme will be a little different too.
"And we're still working on plans and concepts for a new stadium. This is a serious project for the club but a difficult and challenging one that needs great care and attention.
"Macclesfield Town is a very small business but I've learned over the last 18 months it's a very complex one - and it can be really time consuming. Ask my wife! At about 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon I told her I was just popping up to the Moss for an hour. 'I'll see you at about 6.30 then', she replied!"
