Kristian Dennis put pen to paper on a new deal with the Silkmen today, and we caught up with him to discover his thoughts on last season and his plans for the future.
Pleased to get another season here at Macc?
"I'm delighted to be staying at the club for another year. I was really hoping to be getting established in the first team in the season just gone but after scoring a lot of goals in pre-season I found it hard with injuries and it was a struggle to get games. I can't wait to have another crack.
A frustrating season last year then?
"All I want to be doing is playing so it was really difficult for me to be on the sidelines.
"Then I went out on loan to Ashton United and I'm not sure why, but I didn't really get much action there either. I started out well and scored on my debut, but didn't really get much of a look-in after that.
"When I came back and was picked on the bench it was good to be getting closer to where I wanted to be.
It didn't take you long to get off the goal-scoring mark.
"You can't really describe what it feels like to score your first League goal. I'd come off the bench and the chance came my way, so I took it. It was fantastic to see the ball end up in the back of the net.

"It was even better to have it come here at the Moss Rose and especially in front of the home fans in the Star Lane End. All the older players were really happy for me and came over to celebrate. It's great for a younger player to have that sort of team spirit and support.
What are your hopes for next season?
"I'm hoping to get plenty of those chances next season so I can carry on scoring goals and carry on getting games. I can't wait for the season to begin and I want to pick up where I left off and really get myself established in the first-team picture."
