With the league two line up confirmed for next season following the completion of the end of season play-offs, what is in store for the team and the hardy set of fans who follow the Silkmen the length and breadth of the country?
First up, anyone travelling to watch every single away game will clock up 4,500 miles over the course of next season.
Whilst this sounds like a fair old trek, and is as far as you would have to travel to get to Disneyland, in Florida, it is actually amongst the shortest seasonal distances in the division.
The Blues face an average distance of just 97 miles to each opposition ground this coming season, with only Chesterfield bettering us with 96.
But spare a thought for the petrol tanks of Torquay United supporters who as you would expect top the average distance list at 239 miles each way and a total distance of over eleven thousand miles.
That's about as far as the short hop from Macclesfield to New Zealand.
Longest and shortest
Torquay are, unsurprisingly, the furthest club from Macclesfield at 243 miles with the closest being Port Vale, 17 miles away and just edging out the 21 miles to Crewe.
Throughout the division, Rochdale's trip to Bury (and vice versa) is the shortest distance at only six miles whilst the furthest is the arduous 352 mile distance between Torquay and Darlington. No that is dedication!
Fly me to the moon
In total, the 24 clubs in League Two will travel 147,772 miles between them throughout 2009/10 which equates roughly to two thirds of the distance to the moon.
Less travelling than last season
The end of season changes which has brought Burton, Torquay, Crewe, Cheltenham, Northampton and Hereford into the division has also knocked a huge 608 miles off the overall total.
Midweek games
Long-distance Tuesday night games are often missed by all but the most fanatic of supporters and last season we travelled as far afield as Wycombe and Exeter (thanks to a postponement).
The 85 mile journey to Lincoln, the club we have played more than any other in the Football League, was also on a Tuesday evening. Let's hope that this season's fixture list (announced on 17th June) is kinder.
Good news for ground hoppers
And there is good news for 'ground collectors'. You won't need to travel too far to add two more grounds to your list. The Silkmen are due to make their first ever visit to Burton's Pirelli Stadium (48m) and also their first league visit to Gresty Road (21).
Roll on August!
