Macclesfield Town have made their first signing of the summer by signing 28 year old striker Ben Wright on a one year deal.
Ben has spent the last two seasons at Lincoln City after returning to England following a six-year stint playing in Norway.
Born in Germany, Ben began his football career at Lincolnshire side Deeping Rangers before joining Kettering Town in 1998. He spent some time with Leeds in their Premier League U19 side before eventually joining Bristol City for £30,000 aged 18.
Ben made two appearances for City and had a short loan spell with Woking before making a move to Norway in search of first team football.
Former Bristol City manager Benny Lennartsson was in charge of Viking FK, and Ben met up with his former boss to join the Norwegian top-flight side in 2001.
He spent two seasons at Viking, scoring seven times in a total of 48 games as the club finished in third place in his first season. He also came off the bench in the final to win the Norwegian Cup, before a fourth place finish the season after.
That second season also included a run in the UEFA Cup and it was here he scored the most notable of his goals, grabbing a crucial away goal in a 2-1 UEFA Cup defeat at Stamford Bridge on the way to a 5-4 aggregate win.
For the 2003 season, Ben moved to I.K. Start who had been relegated from the top division the previous season. They only spent two seasons in the lower division as Start were the First Division champions in 2004.
Along with the title, Ben also topped the club's goalscoring charts with 15 in 29 games. The following season a broken leg limited his appearances, playing nine times and scoring once as the club finished as runners-up to title winners Vålerenga.
After recovering he spent the end of the 2006 season on loan at FK Moss scoring twice in 11 games.
The summer of 2007 saw Ben returning to England and joining Lincoln City. His first season back in English football saw a healthy return of 15 goals from 26 starts and eight sub appearances. Subscribers to Silkmenworld can see these goals online.
Last season saw his chances limited by injuries to just 17 starts in all competitions with a further 20 from the bench. This saw him scoring three times including a League Cup goal against Derby County.
The six foot four frontman will join the rest of his teammates as the players return for pre-season training on July 1st.

Macclesfield Town manager Keith Alexander said:
"I'd been looking at Ben whilst he was at Lincoln and I'm pleased to have been able to bring him here to Macclesfield.
"He's a big, strong lad and is capable of holding the ball up, which is something you need in this division. He's the sort of player who will put defences under pressure and will lead the line for you.
"He's also capable of getting you 15 goals a season as well as bringing other attackers into play and creating chances for them. He's a good footballer who will help us create space to be able to play."
