The biggest crowd for a competitive home game in over ten years packed into the Moss Rose on Saturday, and whilst the result did not go our way, it is a day when the club held their head up high both on and off the field.

"Whilst I think we all went home with a tinge of disappointment on Saturday night," explained Chief Executive Patrick Nelson, "I think most people will have been proud of the way the team played and certainly encouraged about our prospects for the season ahead."
"Everton's team was packed with quality players but at no stage did I think we looked out of our depth. And with a bit of extra luck on the day who knows what might of happened?"
"The feedback we received from the Everton officials was certainly very positive and I would personally like to place on record my personal thanks to all who played their part."
"Considering our normal attendances at the Moss Rose to host a game with over six thousand fans clearly presented us with a new set of challenges. But the odd minor hiccup aside I thought the army of helpers, from stewards to turnstile operators, bar staff to programme sellers did a fantastic job and were a credit to the club."
"The McIlroy Suite was packed to the rafters with several companies making their first visit to the Moss Rose. They had a great day and hopefully it won't be long before they return."
"And of course we must acknowledge once again the sterling efforts of both the ground staff and the army of fans who helped ensure the game went ahead. Having been out there moving covers myself I know just how cold it was! Without them we wouldn't have had a chance, so again on behalf of everyone at the club I would like to say a big thank you."
