Although it seems to have rained constantly in Cheshire for the last two days, the Moss Rose pitch has so far stood up to the test and is ready for this afternoon's game against Luton Town.  This is a tribute to the work head groundsman Mark Mathers and his small team have done both this week, but over the summer too.

Mark was down at the ground at 7am this morning to check out the results of the overnight rain and was pleased to report that all looks well.  "We've spiked and slitted the pitch most days this week to make sure the drainage channels are all well open, and this has enabled us to absorb the rain we've seen", he said earlier.  "It's looking good for this afternoon now, the only thing that could upset us is a monsoon in the last couple of hours before the game!  As it looks right now, the game will be on!"

That's good news as we search for our first win of the season. Don't forget that the President's Bar will be open from 12 noon for the Sky game between Peterborough United and Bristol Rovers.  With Carling at £2.50 a pint, Worthington at £2.30 a pint and Guinness at just £2 a pint, it's the place to be.  And if you're feeling peckish, ask chef Richard what's on his pub food menu for today...!
