From the manager's chair
Silkmen boss Keith Alexander said his team should be under no illusions that Saturday's trip to Accrington will be another tough encounter.
"On paper, tomorrow's game looks a lot easier than our first two games. But if we go into the match with that attitude we will quickly come a cropper as there are no easy games in this league."
"Accrington have done really well since gaining their league status and I know they are looking to make further progress this year so we should be under no illusions. We have to go out their and battle and earn the right to play football."
"They've got players who can play and they're also not afraid to mix it when they need to. In Paul Mullin they've got a very experienced front man who we will have to be aware of, especially from set pieces where he is a constant danger."
"But to be honest I don't really want to be thinking too much about them. It's what we do that is important. We need to show a marked improvement on last Saturday's match. We've had a good week in training so I am confident we can do that. We don't want to get in a rut. So that first win is all important and something I want in the bag as soon as possible."
"Thankfully we've not picked up any knocks in the week so I am only missing the services of Terry Dunfield who is again suspended. Clayton McDonald of course comes into contention but I won't be naming the team until the morning of the game. Ordinarily I would tell the players on the Friday they are playing but I've changed things around this week to hopefully keep everyone on their toes."
