The club was saddened to hear that Jim Worth, father to our match day announcer Andy, and lifelong Silkmen fan passed away peacefully after a brave battle against cancer on Saturday 9th of August 2008.

Jim was one of life's characters, with a friendly outgoing demeanour and a fantastic sense of humour, and his lifelong support and passion for his beloved Silkmen has had a tremendous impact upon his children and grandchildren who share in Jim's love of for the club. He had a great love of life and everyone he knew was treated with dignity and respect.

To mark his wonderful contribution to life we would ask you to join with us in a round of applause for a true gentleman before kick-off tomorrow.

Rest in peace Jim - we're going to miss you.
