With just a week to go to the start of the League Two campaign Silkmen boss Keith Alexander was a happy man following his side's comfortable 2-0 win at Bower Fold on Saturday. Both goals came in the second half, the first from the penalty spot on 53 minutes (Terry Dunfield converting) and the second two minutes letter from the returning Jamie Tolley.

"It was a useful run out on Saturday and one that I was pleased with. I thought we looked comfortable on the ball and we stronger at the back and from that aspect it was good to watch," explained Keith. "Pre-season is all about getting your fitness up to scratch and working on formations and style of play. I've learnt a lot in the last few weeks and confident that we will be as prepared as we can be when we head off to Shrewsbury next week."
