Those players not featuring in our encounter with the Chengdu Blades will make the trip over to Rainworth Miners Welfare this evening (July 31st). The game at Kirklington Roard kicks-off at 7.30pm.

Speaking about the game Silkmen boss Keith Alexander was full of praise for the set up at Rainworth (located in North Nottinghamshire) and Wren's manager Rudy Funk.

"A friendly at Rainworth will be something different for us. "I've promised Rudy that I would send a good team and I will. He has done such a good job at Rainworth that I want to pay him the compliment of fielding a strong side down there and give them a good game."

Directions

From Chesterfield follow A617 towards Mansfield. As you leave Derbyshire and enter Nottinghamshire you go up a hill with traffic lights at the top. Be in the offside lane to turn right here (this is still A617) and follow the A617 signs around the back of Mansfield. After crossing the A60 go straight ahead at the next roundabout and at the one after you will be on the edge of Rainworth. The shorter route from here is to turn right onto the B6020, and after about a mile at the traffic lights in the village centre (by the Robin Hood pub) turn left - the ground is 150 yards on the left. However, there are annoying road humps along the B6020, so as an alternative go straight ahead at the roundabout onto a dual carriageway. Just after a set of traffic lights you will see the ground on your right, but you have to go up to the next roundabout, turn right, right again at the mini-island, and down the hill to the ground which is again on the right .
