Following a request from Chesterfield our away trip to Saltergate in December has been brought forward a day. The game will now take place on Friday 12th December 2008 with a 7.30pm kick-off.

"Chesterfield are experimenting this season with a few Friday night games and they contacted us to see if we would bring our game forward," explained Chief Executive Patrick Nelson. "After speaking to Keith we were happy to agree to the switch both from a playing point of view and also because we think it might allow a few more Silkmen fans to make the relatively short trip over the Cat & Fiddle in the run up to Christmas."

"We also looked at changing a few of our home games on International weekends. But having checked the kick-off times for the England games they all seem to be scheduled to start after 5pm. So subject to cup commitments and the weather the only change to the published fixture list is the trip to Chesterfield."
