Great to be involved
By his own admission the last six months have been a pretty tough time for Sean Hessey. Frozen out at Chester City, the defender was desperate for a chance to play football again. So when the opportunity arose to come to the Moss Rose he was delighted to make the switch on an initial two month loan deal.

"I don't really want to say too much about the situation at Chester. Suffice to say that it's been made clear to me that I don't feature in the manager's plans. That's pretty tough to deal with but in the end all you can do is keep your head down and try and make the most of any opportunities that come along."
"I'd trained with Macc for a week earlier on in the season, a time I really enjoyed. There were a few familiar faces at the club, Reges, Kev and Luke which helped me to quickly settle in. But to be fair, and I know everyone says this when they arrive at a new club, all the lads made me feel very welcome."
"But having returned back to Chester I had assumed nothing more would come of it. And then out of the blue I got the call and had no hesitation in coming back. I've two months to prove to the gaffer that I am capable of doing a job for him and if I can do that then hopefully we can start to talk about the future after that."
"It's obviously been frustrating at the same time to pick up an injury in my first game back. Whilst I had been keeping fit there is nothing to prepare you for the cut and thrust of a game. So I must admit I was feeling a bit nervous when I made the team for the trip to Notts County. My last game had been back at the end of last season which is a long time to go without competitive action. It's for others to judge how I did but I thought I did ok until I got a knock just before half time."
"Lakey iced my leg up during the interval but it just got worse, eventually just ceasing up. During the following week it improved a lot but clearly there must have been something wrong as I aggravated it next time out and ended up missing the trips to Shrewsbury and Barnet. That was incredibly frustrating but I've had a good week in training and it would be great to be involved in a local derby this weekend."
"I've been involved in a few in my time and they're always games I enjoy playing in. You have to be up for the challenge and it would be great to put one over County and give the fans something to cheer about. There's nothing like a win to build confidence, especially as we contemplate the hectic Christmas programme."
"I don't buy into the calls for fewer games over the holiday period. As a kid I used to love that time of year. I was a regular at Anfield and it was great when the games used to come thick and fast. Its part and parcel of the game and you just have to get on with it."
