The Silkmen lost 1-0 to a late Torquay goal at Plainmoor in an 'end of season' match on the South Coast.
In a game where the Silkmen looked to have one foot on the beach, Jon Brain was the key performer for the visiting side making a string of good saves. The first of these came in the opening five minutes as he dived low to his right to palm a shot wide.
Macc's first chance came for Emile Sinclair who used good skill to bring the ball from his own half into a shooting position, but hit his strike over the bar. Nat Brown also headed over the bar but the home side continued to have the better chances.
And again it was Jon Brain on hand as Torquay put a good passing move together which culminated in Zebroski hitting a low shot which Brain saved with his legs.
Just before the break it was a miss rather than a save that kept the score level as Rendell blazed over from five yards with the goal gaping.
The second half was a similar situation as Brain saved well again as Mansell followed up a blocked shot only for the Silkmen 'keeper to bat the ball away.
The Silkmen then saw a good chance to begging as Ben Wright looked to run onto a through ball but was pole axed on the edge of the area - but the free kick came to nothing.
The Silkmen replaced Craig Lindfield with Paul Bolland but the home side continued to have the better chances as Zebroski headed wide from a free header.
Matty Tipton replaced Emile Sinclair just before a good penalty shout for the Silkmen as Ben Wright seemed to be pulled back going for a through-ball.
Vinny had a great chance carved out for himself as he took the ball from well inside his own area but saw his shot on the edge of the home penalty area shoot inches over the bar.
But the home side eventually took the lead as Wroe was on the end of an incisive passing move and fired the ball past Brain in the Silkmen goal.
Junior Daniel replaced Sean Hessey as the Silkmen looked for a leveller but the home side almost doubled their lead whenshot hit the post and Zebroski was first to the rebound but only found a strong save from Brain.
