The Silkmen were 1-0 winners over Morecambe at the Moss Rose, and we spoke to Gary Simpson after the match.
Good to get the first win under our belts?
"Yes, but that said, I think we've played better in some games this season and not got anything out of it. I thought we were a bit more open and a bit more adventurous tonight. We rode our lluck a little bit at times but so did they and we were the ones who managed to get the goal."
Another goal for Vinny.
"He took it really well after outstripping the defence which was good for him because he was one who I think has played better this season. But he's still learning, he's only a young lad and will keep getting better."
You made a few changes tonight
"Drapes probably isn't ready to play three sets of 90 minutes yet so thought he needed a break and Emile has had a bit of a groin problem. Matt Hamshaw has got a bit of an issue with his toe as well. But Hamza is getting stronger and has had a break so we gave him a go back in midfield, which is where I think he should play, and he did well to get through 90 minutes."
And a first clean sheet for Jose.
"If you'd asked the players last year, most would have through he was unlucky to have not been number one last season. He's played in La Liga so he's no mug and I've never had any question that he'll do us OK."
