Macclesfield Town were narrowly beaten by Leicester City at the Walkers Stadium, and we spoke to Gary Simpson after the match.
You said you wanted to entertain, and played well today?
"I had a look at the reports on them and knew that they were big and had a lot of pace out wide so we were looking to get a bit of size and pace into the side to try and match them. That's why Hamza came into the back-line and we had Bris out at right back.
"That let us put Emile and Colin on the flanks and put Matt Hamshaw in a role in the middle to come off the front and get Emile and Colin in on goal.
"And it worked well, we went a goal up and gave it a real go. But it's always disappointing when you score three goals, because you expect to take something from the game."
A good performance against a higher division side though?
"Yes, they have a lot of good players here and want to move the ball quickly on a good surface. We were a little disappointed with a couple of the goals but it's been a god learning experience for some of the younger players."
We're scoring a lot of goals, which was your worry in pre-season.
" think you attack and defend as a team so scoring goals is a positive. We're going to put people under pressure from dead ball situations and hopefully we'll keep that going."
Might you make some changes for Saturday?
"e've put a squad together that should allow me to make a few changes if we need to. Some of the lads were looking a bit leggy towards the end, but we still have a few injured players to come back, Hamza made it through 90 minutes and overall the squad is looking OK"
