Silkmen boss Keith Alexander was ultimately pleased with a point from this afternoon's clash with Barnet at the Moss Rose. Here's what he had to say moments after the final whistle.

"Let's not get it wrong. Barnet are a good side and arrived her on the back of five straight wins. We'd lost the last two so the first task was to avoid losing again," explained Keith.

"A run of defeats can quickly snowball so I see this very much as a point gained albeit it would have been great had we been able to take all three. We certainly had some good chances but in the end a draw was probably a fair result."

"I thought it was a good game of football. We played some nice stuff and again scored a very good goal. That's two in three for Ricky now. We've been working hard in training to get his fitness levels up and if he continues to progress the way he has I am sure he'll be a regular on the scoresheet."

"Defensively I decided to bring Nat Brown in for Shaun Brisley to combat the threat of Paul Furlong who is a strong and experienced player. By and large I thought we did well against a side who have been scoring a lot of goals. The goal we conceded was unfortunate. I'll have to look at it on the DVD but it would be wrong to blame Paul (Morgan). He's been excellent for us and was just trying to get his head to the ball first. It seemed to be just one of those things."

"Coming so close to half time it would have been easy to let our heads drop but I felt we showed good character in the second half. It was a tight affair, one that could have gone either way. But in the end it was good to get another point on the board."
