"A win today was something we needed - we haven't given the fans a great deal to cheer about at home this season so it was nice to finish with a win.

"At times I felt we played some nice stuff, but then at other times we played neat football and got nowehere.I have no problem with playing a good passing game as long as it causes the opposition problems.

"We conceded a sloppy goal so that's obviously the biggest area we need to improve on and I'm looking forward to doing that.

"There are question marks over a lot of our lads, a few of them are young lads who have been at higher division clubs and haven't had a lot of football.I'm not sure what coaching they'll have had but a lot of them have potential.

"I won't be putting out my released list probably until after the Crewe game, I've said that there will be a lot who go and my opinion on that hasn't changed.

"Football can be a matter of opinion, I'm not one for picking out star players or star performers because it's a team game and that's what I'm trying to instil into the players.Yes you need someone who can have that spark who might win you the game out of nothing but at this level it's definitely a team effort and we need to make sure we work as a team week in, week out.

"The lads who came off the bench might get a start next week, we were a very young side today and apart from maybe Brown, Bell and Briany we were very inexperienced.Kristian Dennis has been one all season who every time I've wanted to give him a couple of games he's had a knock or been injured - last pre-season he was our best player and scored goals for fun.

"I'm disappointed with the season as a whole obviously.I set my standards higher than finishing in the bottom four or five - it's not something I want to be associated with or live up to the standards that I set for myself.

"We've had some good games but unfortunately our home form has been very poor and usually that's what determines where you come.If you look at Shrewsbury they've won more home games than anyone else and are just around the play-offs despite hardly winning away all season.Home form is very important and we've got to put that right.

"We want to be in and around mid-table at Christmas and if you get to within a few points off the play-offs then you've always got half a chance. This season we got to not too far away from that - then let two good players go and that cost us.At the time I don't think anybody, me included, would have thought it'd have such a big impact on our form and we'll learn from our mistakes."
