Despite the disappointment of seeing his side slip to another defeat, having led going into the break, Silkmen boss Keith Alexander urged his players and the fans to not let their heads drop.
"Losing hurts and it affects me just as much as the next person," explained Keith. "But it is important we don't let our heads drop or start feeling sorry for ourselves."
"I thought we did enough today to at least take a point from the game. We had a glorious chance to make it two nil just after the break. That would have been game over. But we didn't take that chance and paid the price. They go down the other end and score twice."
"The results just aren't coming for us at the moment. But much like last week I thought we deserved better. We could do with a little bit of luck and when that much needed win arrives I am sure the next one won't be too far behind."
"That isn't offered up as an excuse. And ultimately we know we have to do better. But we haven't had the rub of the green just recently. There was enough in our performances against Luton last week and Dagenham today to suggest we are moving in the right direction."
"But I am not naïve. Results are what matters and we've been on a bad run of late. We've two big games this week. Firstly at Lincoln on Tuesday and then next week at home to Chesterfield! It's important we continue to work hard and if we do we should get our rewards."
"We've not picked up any fresh injuries today so that helps. John (Rooney) took his goal really well and I pleased for the lad. He's deserved his chance and having opened his senior account it will be the first of many. He's certainly not lacking in confidence and that's the sort of attitude we need right now."
