Despite seeing his side concede an injury time equaliser at the Recreation Ground this afternoon Keith Alexander was happy to be returning home with a point in the bag.
"Aldershot is a tough place to come and that's borne out by the fact that only one side has taken all three points off them in the league so far this season," explained Keith. "So had someone offered us a point before kick-off I would have gladly taken that."
"Of course it's frustrating to concede a goal so late but to be fair to Aldershot they had put us under a lot of pressure and we were under the cosh a bit. But we never let our heads drop and I thought our work rate was excellent."
"I made a few changes to the side with Emile Sinclair and Jamie Tolley starting and I thought both did well. Emile is an excellent young prospect and will only get better as he gets more games under his belt."
"Jamie has missed a lot of football these past two seasons but I know what he is capable of. It was a great run and pass to set up Gareth, and I want to see more of that from him in the coming weeks. And it was a great finish from Gareth as well."
"I took the decision not to select Terry today as I didn't think he would be mentally in the right place to play this afternoon. There's been a lot of talk about whether he's staying or going and it is in the best interest of both the player and the club that we arrive at a speedy resolution."
