Keith warns against complacency
Keith Alexander and the team will be travelling to Barnet tomorrow determined to build on the point gained at Rochdale. But the Silkmen boss is warning his side not to take the North London side too lightly.
"Having picked up a point at high flying Rochdale, people might be tempted to regard the Barnet game as being a much easier prospect especially as they had the disappointment of going out of the FA Cup this week," explained Keith.
"The fact it went into extra time should mean they have a few tired legs in the squad. As we didn't have a game we should in theory be fresher but always be wary of a wounded side. Plus you only have to look at there results to see what they are capable of. Catch them on a good day and they can be very good as is evident by their recent win at Rotherham. They've also taken points off Bradford, Wycombe and Shrewsbury."
"It sums up this league perfectly. Any side is capable of taking points off another which makes for exciting times. And of course the opportunity for any side putting an unbeaten run together to make significant strides up the table."
"Like ourselves Barnet have struggled at home and will have been disappointed with their 4-0 defeat against Notts County at Underhill last week. Jonathan Forte was a good signing for the Magpies and I wasn't surprise to see him score on his debut. They'll clearly be looking to set the record straight this weekend in front of their own fans."
"With games against Barnet and Grimsby, both below us in the league, we have to be targeting a minimum of four points from the two games. But in the same way they will also be looking at these games and thinking exactly the same. They'll be fancying their chances of beating us so we have to work even harder."
"We've put in two very professional performances in our last two outings on the road and we'll need more of the same on Saturday. If we can pick up at least a point, it will set us up nicely for the return to the Moss Rose on Tuesday."
"The fixture list is a bit all over the place this season if you ask me. We've gone from feast to famine. Having played at home four times in three weeks, Tuesday's game will be our first game at the Moss for almost 3 ½ weeks."
"Perhaps that was a good thing bearing in mind our struggles at home. But that record is something we are desperate to put right."
