Making the lottery work for us

Posted on: Fri 15 Jan 2010

Imagine what you would do with £25,000. Well that dream could be a reality thanks to the Gold Bond Super Draw which is run in conjunction with other clubs in and around the North West. By joining forces we are able to keep administration costs down, whilst at the same time able to offer a bigger prize pot

The £25k is the main prize in the annual Silkmen Gold Bond Lottery! But there are also a whole host of other weekly prizes up for grabs, 286 in fact. For just £1 you could be in with a chance of winning the top weekly prize of £2000. And with a further £500 and two lots of £200 also handed out, not to mention all the other smaller amounts, you've a very real chance of going home with a smile on your face!

And just as importantly your support for the re-launched lottery will also be helping the club, with 40p of every £1 donated to the Silkmen.

Entering couldn't be easier

For only £1 per entry per week, the new Gold Bond lottery is a fantastic way to help the Silkmen whilst giving yourself the chance of a cash prize or two. You can pay any way you like, standing order, cheque, cash or even credit card - we make it easy for you to be in the weekly draw!

For more information please call Julie at the club on 01625 264686 or look out for your local collector.

Making it work

In order to make the Lottery REALLY work well for us, we need some new canvassers and cash collectors. The best way to get people involved as lottery members is to sign them up in your office, factory, shop, pub or sports club, so if YOU would like to be one of our new lottery agents, please contact Julie at the Club on 01625 264686, or Carole Wood on 07778 862159.

As well as the above places, we will also be looking to sign up members for the new Gold Bond lottery in and around the various parts of Macclesfield. So if you live on the Moss, Upton Priory, Hurdsfield, Bollinbrook, Weston, around the Town Centre, or anywhere else you think you can rustle up a few members, please give us a call.

Earning commission

Collectors will also enjoy earning commission of 15% of all sales they collect - i.e. 15 pence for every £1 they collect. So it's also a way of picking up a little pocket money.

By selling just 20 tickets a week, you would receive over £150 a year in commission. 40 tickets and that increases to over £300, more than enough to buy your next season ticket!

Accrington & Morecambe

Similar schemes in Accrington and Morecambe have over 2000 members. So you don't need to be a mathematical genius to work out that the clubs enjoy a significant contribution to their funds as a result.

Where does the money go?

For every £1 entry, 40p gets back to the Silkmen as a donation to help build funds for our club - another 40p goes into the prize pot, and the remaining 20p covers administration and commission.

So as you can see, joining new Gold Bond is a great way to help your club - and maybe yourself too!

How can I help?
