Macclesfield Town are hosting a Sportsmen's Dinner on Thursday night.
Last year's event was a great success and we have high hopes that this one will be even better!
The evening will start at 7.30pm in the McIlroy suite, here at the Moss Rose, where you will be greeted by our guest speakers, Alex Stepney and Vince Miller with comedian Jimmy Bright.
Alex Stepney was an integral part of the Manchester United side which won the League Championship in 1967, entitling them to entry into the European Cup the following season.
No English club had won the competition, but Stepney featured throughout until the final against Benfica, which took place at Wembley. With the score at 1-1 and the game rapidly approaching the 90th minute, Stepney made a close-range save so outstanding that Benfica striker Eusebio stopped and applauded. United won 4-1 with three goals in extra-time.

In United's second division season after their relegation in 1974, Stepney was given the unusual job of penalty taker, which saw him scoring twice and jointly topping the club's goalscoring charts early in the season as United bounced straight back as Champions. In the 1977 FA Cup final, he was the only remaining United player from the European Cup win to lift the FA Cup.
In all he played 546 games for Manchester United before leaving for Dallas Tornado in the North American Soccer League in the United States.
The club chef has put together an impressive menu to suit the best of appetites. You will be served drinks on arrival and we expect to sit down for dinner at 8pm.
We have some exciting auction prizes up for grabs on the night with Vince Miller as our auctioneer.
Prices for this exciting night are £50 per head or £400 for a table of 8.
