Football in the Community run several activities in schools and estates across Macclesfield and the surrounding area. Amongst the more recent initiative is Street Soccer, an activity run in association with Cheshire Peaks and Plains, the Police and the local Council.
Street Soccer is a fun, free activity that is run on estates in and around the borough of Macclesfield.
The Silkmen's FitC currently hold sessions at Ash Grove Primary School, Western Playing Fields, West Park, Macclesfield High School and Spath Lane (Handforth) we will be opening up a new St Soccer at Lanark Walk (Upton Priory) and branching out into other new areas in the borough.
The main aim of Street Soccer is to combat anti-social behaviour of teens around the borough by giving kids a fun and safe activity to take part in. And what's more, the police have seen a significant change in anti-social behaviour since Street Soccer started.
Street Soccer is run on a weekly basis at a different venue each night. The venues are Macclesfield High School Tuesdays from 6-7pm, Ash Grove & Western Playing Fields Wednesdays from 6.15-8.15pm Spath Lane Thursdays 6-7pm and West Park Fridays 5-7pm.
If you would like to take part in any of the Street Soccer activities feel free to turn up at any of the venues across the borough and keep an eye out on this website and in the matchday programme for future updates on this and other community activities.
